Powell Endorses Obama on Meet The Press

This morning on Meet The Press Gen. Colin Powell, a Republican who worked in the Reagan and both Bush White Houses, endorsed Barack Obama for President.  Powell is highly respected on both sides of the aisle and his endorsement could help bring some moderate republicans into Barack Obama’s column.  Powell has plenty of experience and for him to cross party lines and state that Barack Obama would be a better President is another nail in the coffin of John McCain’s campaign.  Powell also criticized John McCain for choosing Sarah Palin and his over the top divisive smearing of Obama, while praising Obama for being inclusive and inspirational.  Of course, some on the Right, including that pill popping blow-hard Rush Limbaugh, have already tried to write off this endorsement based on race.  They claim that Powell is just supporting Obama because he is black, while forgetting how Powell came out strong for Bush in 2000.  Time to call the whambulance for poor Rush and friends.
