I agree the unhinge greed needs to be contained by government but I believe that other than providing security, calculating economic risks and endorsing fiscal opportunity the federal government should a play a small role in the markets. Especially in the case buoying up failing institutions that didn't understand the risks they were taking and subsidizing industries that compromise the ideas of fair trade in developing countries. It seems the justification for these bailouts goes along the same lines as those for warrant-less wiretapping in that they are both perpetuated by fear of poverty and boogey men. @KoolAid
